Quote :
" Rove has leveled similar criticism against Obama.

"McCain has gone in some of his ads -- similarly gone one step too far," he told Fox News, "and sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the '100 percent truth' test."

The Obama campaign immediately leaped on the quote.

"In case anyone was still wondering whether John McCain is running the sleaziest, most dishonest campaign in history, today Karl Rove -- the man who held the previous record -- said McCain's ads have gone too far," said campaign spokesman Tommy Vietor, in a statement sent to reporters minutes after Rove's on-air comments. Rove masterminded both of President Bush's successful White House bids."

Pretty bad when the original slime artist is saying you're too much!

well no shit he says the same thing against Obama, he's Karl Rove! What's newsworthy is that he is criticizing one of his own cloakroom GOP butt buddies which is pretty surprising.

^go ahead and do it. you claim that you're here to provide balanced representation on this message board, so such an action is one that i would actually applaud.

however, your statements thus far were mildly misleading. he doesn't exactly say the same thing about obama. he verbally said that mccain had gone too far and then stated that

Quote :
"Rove said both candidates need to "be careful" about their attacks on each other."
but that isn't explicitly stating that he has gone too far, just that he needs to be careful.

THis is a Rovian ploy. McCain clearly has gone farther than Obama (what Obama ad comes close to the sex-ed one?), but by Rove, a very popular figure, getting so much press saying they're "equal" it makes people think they actually are equal, essentially writing his own reality.

People aren't stupid, they can see for themselves if they live in battlegrounds. You can't hide the fact that McCain's campaign is the most cut throat, untruthful, flat out deceptive campaign in modern politics.

LOL. The biggest argument against democracy is five minutes with an average voter.
