I was just having lunch with a co-worker, and we were talking about restaurants. She told me that she thought Ruth's Chris was nice, but over priced for the food. Then I found out she doesn't even eat steak. She said her whole party (of 4) didn't even order steak. I was slightly dumbfounded. Why would you go eat there I asked her? She said they wanted to eat somewhere nice. And then to complain about the price?

^^very true. But usually people don't go to one unless at least somebody wants steak.

She also thought McDonalds and Burger King burgers were made with a lot of soy filler.

I mean how can you criticize a restaurant for being overpriced for the quality of the food when you're not even trying a single thing they specialize in?

Sounds like my first girlfriend...

Her: "I don't like steak."
Me: "Have you ever had any?"
Her: "No."

with steakhouse being part of the name, you would think they would figure out what might have been pretty good...

nice =! expensive

(but i see what you mean a lot of folks think nice = $$$$)

The chain was founded by the late Ruth Fertel, a single mother of two, in 1965, after she bought the existing Chris Steak House in New Orleans. In buying the restaurant, Fertel had to agree that the restaurant keep the "Chris" name for a specified period of time. After the original location sustained a kitchen fire, she relocated the restaurant about one-half mile (0.9 km) to the west on Broad Street and renamed the rebuilt establishment "Ruth's Chris." Under the purchase agreement, the name "Chris Steak House" could not be used at any other location, and she did not want to lose customers already familiar with the Chris name. Fertel started to franchise the restaurant in the 1970s to locations throughout the United States and throughout the world.

Yeah I read the wiki.

I still don't understand why you would do that.

If you want to leave it "Chris Steakhouse" then just leave it that, was that bitch that narcissistic that she had to have her name on the place too?

One of my favorite steak places for sure, way better than the Angus barn. However, I think the fillet (not bone in) is better at Sullivan's.

their food is allright, but i'd put it towards the lower end of "nice" steakhouses, chain or not.
