Last night my mom came over to visit. I was telling her about my 4-year old son's check-up that he had last week. I told her the doctor was thinking that he may need speech therapy if his letter combinations weren't better within a year or so. He has trouble with letter combinations like "cl," " "th," and "sm." So, my mom decided it'd be a good idea to practice words with those letter combinations with him. I t hought it was a great idea too, so I left her in my living room with my son practicing words. I come back in the room a couple of minutes later to hear my mom say "Can you say clit?" I, of course, wasn't exactly happy with her word choice. We had a discussion about it, but it's a bit too late because my son thought it was hilarious and has been running around all morning saying "cwit, cwit, cwit!"

maybe your son's tongue is too large (seriously)

i bet it sounds more like "quit" than "clit", though

I babysat exactly once in my life, on St. Patrick's Day, no less. So the kid was playing with toys and I was watching a History Channel special on the Irish. That show inspired me to teach the kid a new phrase. She was only maybe 2 years old, so it didn't sound perfect, but I laughed my ass of when, on my way out the door, I heard the little girl tell her parents:

"Mommy, I have whooping cough!"
