How old does rap/r&b music have to be to be considered old school? I personally don't think anything made after 1995 or so isn't old school. What are your favorite old school songs/artists?

I think the 'Chronic' album was the turning point in rap history. Anything before then is old school.

The reason why I thought this up is b/c a radio station had some kind of "Old School Jam of the Day" segment and they played some DMX song from like 5 or 6 years ago. I was thinking wtf that isn't old school.

1996 and beforeThe Cutoff album for me is "The Doggfather." That's where I mark the end of old school.

Oh I don't know fans of the genre and music historians.I don't care much for the rap music of today. It's ok to bob your head to or dance to when you are in a club with some girl, but there's not much substance to a lot of it.
