Working 7AM-7PM sucks; don't see how the Production & Maintenance hourly workers do it. Today and tomorrow I am working with production U shift (4 rotating shifts U R S T) to gain an appreciation of the factory workers.
I'm exhausted. Think i found a new appreciation of my 8-5 M-F schedule as a member of the Management & Professional tier of employees. 9/16/2008 9:32:36 PM |

It really isn't that bad. Honestly I like working the 12 hr shifts to get more days off. It is a 5 week rolling schedule and during that time I get 7 days off in a row. If you take three nights off (36 hr of vacation) you end up with 14 days off.
D = ~6:30am - 6:30pm T = 7:30am - 5:30pm (normally get out around 3 or 4 through) N = ~6:30pm - 6:30am * = Day off

they do. They actually have a pretty good arrangement. They work 4 nights, get 3 days off, work 3 days, get one day off, work 3 nights, get 3 days off, work 4 days, than have a full week off. Than cycle starts over.9/16/2008 9:57:19 PM |

try working 7am to 7am... on a weekend... for free... admittedly, we get to sleep (sometimes), but that doesn't really change much9/17/2008 7:08:27 AM |
