Obama wasn't exactly taking on a "50 state strategy," but he does hope to turn a lot of red states blue and when by an impressive margin that gives him a clear mandate. 9/22/2008 2:58:04 AM |

Even pulling paid staff out of a state at this point won't be completely giving up on the state given the ground game and volunteer base that has already been coordinated in the state.
On a semi-related note I read yesterday that both McCain & Obama are shifting more resources into North Carolina. 9/22/2008 6:51:30 AM |

Quote : | "In the wake of an epic financial meltdown that threatens to derail the U.S. economy for years, Barack Obama announced he was ending his run for President of the United States, declaring to a stunned nation, “Man, this is bullshit.”
In a boisterous and hastily-called press conference, Obama detailed his reasons for the decision. “I was prepared to fight global warming, reform the health care system, repair our crumbling roads, create a 21st century electric grid, find Bin Laden, end the war in Iraq, and bring peace to Israel and the Palestinians. But now you tell me I have to clean up the worst financial mess since the Great Depression too? One that’s going to plunge our economy into a recession for most of my administration while I take the blame? Fuck that. That’s fucking ridiculous. You guys clean up your own shit. I’m outta here.”" |

The portion of Obama's campaign he doesn't have to pay for ( the mainstream media) is calling NC a battleground state, but they can't actually believe that. Of course, if he wants to waste money here and it helps him lose, that's a good thing. 10/4/2008 4:47:03 PM |

some things i wonder/think sometimes:
-is the media inflating obamas numbers so that when he loses they can all be like omg wtf how did he lose/there are too many racists -back when it was close, was the media trying to make it close just so that all the negros etc were like oh shit we def need to vote(making sure every person thought they had to vote) -its gonna be the shit if mccain wins the electoral vote and obama wins the popular vote...in that situation, my dream scenario is mccain winning by like 5 electoral votes and obama winning by like 7-10 million votes 10/4/2008 5:32:32 PM |

We are less of a battleground state than other states, but we're still a battleground state, as the polls indicate.
speaking of polls (again...): http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html Obama has officially passed his all-time highest poll level on RCP, and is about 1.6 points away (a LOT actually) from his all-time biggest lead10/4/2008 5:54:36 PM |
