he graduated from the naval academy, went to flight school, bought a corvette, started boning down with a famous local stripper, married a model, went to vietnam, got blown up/crashed a couple of airplanes/got taken prisoner, came home and saw that his wife had gotten fat, divorced her, married a hot, rich beer heiress.
