Quote : | "Well this is not a BMW or a Skoda station wagon with a Ferrari logo but a super exclusive specially created by Ferrari styling house PININFARINA for the uber-rich family of the Sultanate of Brunei. It features four doors, a backseat, a hatchback, and is similar in size to the BMW 5 series station wagon. The difference being the traditional Ferrari styling and a lot of horses under the hood.

interesting, but I'm guessing this isn't terribly new as they haven't made the 456 in years. 9/22/2008 2:43:44 PM |

This is one of those cases where I'd far rather own a stock Ferrari and a normal wagon like a 540iT than to have a custom like this. It really doesn't look very good and I bet it doesn't handle like the car Ferrari intended. 9/22/2008 4:12:50 PM |

Holy shit this is [old]er than my mature sperm! I remember seeing pics of this car when I was 11-13 years old.

This is one of those cases where what you say is moot. This guy owns tens, if not hundreds of Ferraris, at least one of every type made for the past 20-30 years. If you own every Ferrari* out there, then what do you do? You call up exotic car companies and ask them to make you one-off cars that no one else will ever own! Of course, if one doesn't own a Ferrari, one would rather get the real deal than one converted into a station wagon, duh.
As for the looks, it looks just like it would have if Ferrari had made them into standard models... well I guess because Ferrari did make it. So this is the real deal... it doesn't look like some dude did it himself or some OTT customising company did it. It looks just the way a Ferrari station wagon would/should.
And the handling, I bet it handled FAR FAR FAR better than any station wagon of its day, and still better than all station wagons made today save for a handful from Audi, BMW, and MB.
* and Lamborghini, and Porsche, and Maserati, and....
BTW, I remember reading about him decades ago in some magazne. They said he had 10-15 guys in his payroll whose only job was to drive cars around in the underground garage to prevent the batteries from dying and to keep them in working condition! 9/22/2008 6:14:15 PM |

I love estates. If you're going to drop $100,000+ on a car, it might as well be a practical daily driver. 9/23/2008 9:49:01 AM |

It's a wagon based on a 1990s 456GT. They stock ones were front engine, rear-drive 2+2 coupes. 9/23/2008 3:25:02 PM |

Exactly! If I had the money, I would get the new 580 hp RS6 Avant, the most powerful wagon ever made, and best looking IMO. Freaking gorgeous and aggressive looking. Any of the following would do as well:
