This is reminder of the activities this Saturday at the NC State Fairgrounds to raise money for the medical expenses of 4 year old Matthew Baldwin. I will be there with my trusty camera, and I hope that if you are able to attend, that you will be there too.
Here's a message from the company in charge of the event:
11-7pm on September 27, 2008 at the Heritage Circle and Martin areas of the fairground in Raleigh, NC.
A fundraising event for a Four year old boy's (named Matthew Baldwin) medical bills.
Matthew's Story
Friday, August 1, four-year-old Matthew Kincade Baldwin was involved in a tragic accident involving a lawn mower and lost his right leg. The accident took place in Swanquarter, a small town near the coast. First responders nearby Engelhard were able to stabilize Matt and take him to a nearby location where he was air lifted by East Care Air Flight to Pitt Memorial Hospital. Surgeons performed emergency surgery and by God's will the surgeons were able to save him, but they were not able to save his right leg, which was amputated above the knee. Matt is in good condition and great spirits. He has a long road to recovery and some days may be harder than others, but family and friends continue to reassure Matt daily that he can do and be anything his heart desires.
As most of you could imagine the insurance policy didn't cover all of the medical bills. The first day this was a Million dollar accident.
Brief Info about event:
This will be a family event that will have things for kids to do as well as adults. This will also be the last weekend the Fairgrounds is open before the State Fair and they are predicting a huge crowd for this weekend. The event is free and we hope to raise money for the medical bills by donations and a silent auction. All donations will go directly to his bank account which has been set up for this purpose. On site there will also be a car show (muscle cars), car/bike wash, face painting, massage therapists, various family activities, vendor promos, Silent Auction, Raffles, and other activities listed on the flyer.

Need to be in and set up at 10am for the morning shift. There will be two options for your participation in this event as either as a vendor, performer, or volunteer. There will be a morning and afternoon shift process, unless you want to work with us all day (which we would love). Afternoon Vendors I'd still prefer to be set up early unless you are a food/drink vendor.

Please email me at Irreplaceabledesigns@yahoo.com with the following:
1. Confirmation on your participation amount for the any of the following: auction, raffle, booth to set up, participation, performance times.

3. All participants need to send me their regular email address, stage names, legal names, and preferred time of performance.
Bands/comedians/etc:
In your email please CC: Gringopresa@yahoo.com ~~ This is Matt with Deep South, he will be helping along with Tony from C4 to coordinate the band scheduling, PA Systems, etc.
Security and Officers:
Please CC: Roy.Baldwin@co.wake.nc.us ~ He will be coordinating the posts for each assignment.
Feel free to forward this email to anyone who'd be interested in participating in this event. As I complete final confirmations with each company, the different levels of sponsors, performers, and all donations will be listed on both my business site, Matthews, and a few other sites to ad publicity. As well as the various advertising, radio, and magazine companies advertising for us. This event has become quite personal to me as I've grown to know this family. We all appreciate everything everyone is doing to help us get this event coordinated
Let me know what you think and what you want to do A.S.A.P. Again thanks so much for helping us out.

^^That was the Greenville Hooters, and I didn't take that photo.
Hope you will visit http://matthewbaldwin.org, read about him, his progress, and the Saturday event. If you can assist either by being a volunteer Saturday or by making a financial donation, Matthew's family would be most grateful.
