Will anything ever be as good as The Office - Season 2?

I mean, you can only go down once you've hit perfection.

season 3 was as good as season 2.

season 4... not so much.

[Edited on September 23, 2008 at 5:57 PM. Reason : but really, plenty of shows are better than the office season 2]

what i saw of season 4 (admittedly not very much, a few episodes) sucked compared to the glories of season 2 and 3

I rewatched some of the second half of season 4 in preperation for thursday. I still think by the end of the season they really got back in the game, after the not so hot first few eps.

^mmm, i watched the first 3 or 4 episodes of season 4 and got turned off. I will have to check out the rest of season 4 at some point as I have heard from others as well that it did get better.

^ yeah that would be pretty good, it's too bad it wouldn't happen

make the show more about "the office," you know, it's original purpose... we're not watching a damn soap opera

what's with the fucking editing in this show? they accidently inserted a scene of "goatee-less" Michael before he shaved it. They also had two scenes of Oscar asking Holly about her date.

1/2 way through and it's pretty good.
But.... why did Michael show up all of a sudden with a goatee with no explanation?

ok, there's the explanation. too soon

dwight spraying all the food w/ raid was hilarious

and taking all the food out of the vending machine and replacing it w/ veggies was funny as hell....and then spraying the veggies w/ raid

and the fall of Ryan...Boy had it all. Now he's the replacement receptionist and all of a sudden interested in Kelly.

haha Dwight talking about the men of Scranton was pretty good and the Kevin being mentally challenged joke continuation from last season

overall, weak episode though, I'd probably give it a C+

meh episode. couple of funny moments (mostly from dwight's end) but I was actually surprised about the proposal. I thought we were going to get more drama with her being in NY but I'm sure that'll happen anyways.

Not as good as a lot of past episodes... But I can see why... they obviously took some time away from setting up gags and the like to set up the coming season and summarize the last season to some degree... hell, there was barely even any Jim-pranking-Dwight interaction...

I'd give is a 6.5/10. Could have been much better but I can understand why it wasn't.

Ok, look

A lot of you all know me. You know I'm not particularly sentimental. Frankly, I hate most people, and couldn't care less about the remainder.

Nonetheless, this episode made me happy, because if Jim hadn't proposed I would have burned my house down, shot my roommates, and turned the gun on myself. And I like my house and my roommates are OK. So this is good. And fuck all y'all.

Hopefully their resolution of the Jim-Pam relationship will leave more time open for Jim to prank Dwight, since his other main interest is taken care of.

My crazy guesses for the evolution of Jim/Pam drama in future episodes this season:

1. Chubby flirty guy makes a move on Pam, he tries to kiss her right as Jim surprises her with a visit.
2. Jim flips out and makes some sort of hurtful comment bringing up the fact that she kissed Jim a couple times while she was engaged to whatshisface.
3. ...drama...
4. ...resolution...
5. Angela calls off wedding at the church, Jim & Pam step up and take their place (completing the circle after Andy stole Jim's opportunity/thunder at the party).

And btw, the "beard watering" story board had me rollin'

^^,^Actually I would sub Ryan/Kelly into #5. Jim & Pam drama is too important to the show for them to actually get married anytime soon.

isn't pam done with the program, though? i think she said it was just a 3 month program, so i feel like the chubby guy should be out of the picture by now. actually, i feel like he was a red herring.

what if as the engagement goes on, Jim discovers some things about Pam that were actual reasons that Roy delayed the marriage for so long and it wasn't just because he was an asshole, and starts to feel the same way

It was a 3 month program, they covered 8 weeks last night, 6 or 7 of which she was in NYC (did she leave after the 2nd weigh-in, or the first?). So, she could still be there for 5-6 weeks i guess....

^ impossible! Pam's perfect!!

^^^yeah, i agree. That's just what I think may happen, not necessarily what I want to happen.

^^I hope not. In my [sappy] opinion, I think Jim and Pam need to end up together in the long run.

^^^^ I think America (at least my friend Emily,GrumpyGOP and myself) would revolt if something like that happened.

And it'll be a quick engagement because her last one was much too long.

What exactly did Jim say when he did finally ask? I couldn't hear over the yelling of my girl friend
