So my roommate decided to take this phrase into action this morning apparently. This is like the 6th or 7th time he has started cookign something and then just passed out or fallen asleep in his room. So I wake up about 5:15 this morning with the fire alarm going off and walk out to see my kitchen on fire. Our microwave is black, things around it are melting, I basically grab a flaming pan and throw it out the door to save all our lives, yes I am a hero now thanks. The dude never even comes out of his room to see whats going on through all of this. Needless to say I have already told the apartment about this problem and so Ill be down there this morning and if he isnt out within a week then me and my other roommate are gone.

So.... I need suggestions on decent 2 bedroom 2 bath places, would prefer not to be in a total college setting like Lake Park anymore. Ive started checking rent.com and dont know if there are other good online places to check. Cats must be ok and somewhere around 800 a month would be ok. Ready, set, go!

I hope, for your sake, that they make him move.

Is this guy a potluck roommate?

Negative, home is in Goldsboro and commuting to work from there is not gonna be cost effective. Not to mention parents put a real damper on that whole being single thing.

Yep, all my good roommates moved out in December, I got my buddy in here to take one room but the other 2 were random draws. The other guy is ok and is never here, this guy has done more stupid shit than I can even begin to count. Im pretty much only living at Lake Park because it is cheap and lets me save more money each month so I have no real problem moving into a nicer place if I have a good excuse, and beign scared to goto work because you may come home to your place on fire is a good one.

I also brought that up to the apartment and asked taht locks be placed on our individual doors, havent seen that either. Like I said if he isnt out within like a week tops Im moving. They will probably claim their hands are tied, apparently he is suing them and they cant evict someone until that is all finished but sorry not my problem when I am worried about dying every day now.

get your stuff out, and the next time he sets the place on fire, just let the bitch burn. that way you're free of him, the apt complex is free of him, and you can move on.

i stay at rhyne's gate. it fits all your criteria except no pets allowed. even though it's close to campus it's nothing like the "college setting" at places at lake park. the higher rent seems to keep those type of folks out or something.

Hunters glen looks like a lot of space for the price, but there may be a reason for that. Also gonna check out some of the places off Duraleigh. Rhynes Gate seems to be near a lot of not so great area all around it from what I have seen.

DOES NOT COMPUTE

LP is far from a total college setting. U Woods/Suite/House, Campus Edge, etc are total college settings. Lake park is farm from those.

1) you have renter's insurance, right?
2) What the fuck is he suing the complex for?
3) What in the bloody fuck is wrong with your roommate?

Duraleigh is generally a nice area.

Also check out the apartments around Lake Lynn. They're easy to play against each other when negotiating rent.

Ahahaha my friends parents own a unit in lake park and the exact same thing happened there. They had to pretty much rebuild his whole apartment inside. It set of sprinklers and the whole shit.

It's a little below your rent range, but check out Univ Apts just down the street from centennial. When I moved there I thought for sure it would be overrun with students, but its actually mostly young couples, professionals, etc.

The apts themselves are kind of run down, but you cant beat the rent with a stick.

Hunters glen IS A SHITHOLE GHETTO FIESTA
one of the reasons i moved is b/c my friends wouldnt come visit w/out bringing a pistol.

plus, every day in the summer at the pool is a fucking fiesta. fucking mexicans everywhere.

my car was vandalized along with several others and i moved out after that.

Check out Highlands at Olde Raleigh, Concord and others on Duraleigh

i admit, it's ghetto as fuck back behind there. however, rhyne's gate has a lot of cameras and signs up warning about them and i haven't had any trouble at all. i walk from my place to my friend's place at U. Oaks and haven't had any trouble or anything. i might get mugged on my way home tonight, but i feel like rhyne's gate gets a bad reputation that it's not entirely deserving of

rhyne rents out lots of houses and things in the raleigh area. I had all of my maintenance stuff taken care of very quickly and I managed to get everything but 15 dollars back from my security deposit, which is a first. you can see their listings online, just google rhyne management.

I will try to get pictures from my roommates camera when he gets back from class. Its looking like my options are to wait the 30-45 days its gonna take to get him evicted, or move my ass out.

i have known 2 people, both from Kinston, that have died in separate incidents in a fire that was started from passing out drunk while cooking a frozen pizza.

I assumed there was a reason hunters glen appeared bigger than most places for less money, so far duraleigh and the lake lynn area both seem like good suggestions

Notice the melted open bottle of oil beside it

The burn mark outside my door where I set the pan down to try and put out the fire

Oh and he is suing because he fell down the stairs apparently

You might want to make sure you have renter's insurance just in case he burns the place down and all your shit.
