so it reflects poorly if you take it more than once? and what about if you dont pass, can you take it immediately or is there a wait period before you can take it again?

sorry, my roommate is looking at switching from a CALS major to an E major, so she's curious and i didnt know who else to ask...

nobody is going to know how many times you take the FE, unless you tell them. and it's not like you have to take it, anyway...

Plus it always looks good on a resume, at least gives the impression you're striving to be a PE even if you aren't or can't.

You can take that, once you've passed it you work 4 years directly under another qualified PE in your particular field or sector you want to be a PE in and take the harder PE test to become the holy PE engineering companies love.

When you pass make sure you don't put the letters E.I. on your resume until you actually graduate. I had one hard ass P.E. tell me that it was against the law to put that on your name until you have a degree. You can put in the body of your resume somewhere: "E.I. certification pending graduation (F.E. Exam Oct 07)." I put it in the education section on mine.

in nc, after you fail it 3 times, you can only take it once a year; but there's no limit. if you take it in va, there aren't any restrictions (bonus: va doesn't have any pdh requirements)

It's not like this is a long thread to read before asking stuff like that.

That test is a joke. So easy.

it's heavily tailored specifically for mechs/civils/aeros

if you're in an engineering major other than that, your mileage may vary
