I think I'll vote for McCrory. He knows what's up in regards to education.

I don't think it will happen, but NC has a chance to vote for a Democrat for president and elect a Republican for governor, that hasn't happened... well, I don't think that has ever happened.

From what I've seen (and I haven't followed it closely), Purdue seems like a cunt, and McCrory seems like a pretty honest guy who is, at the least, running a fair campaign.

I'm going to read up some more, but that will likely be one Republican on my ballot

Perdue's dishonest ads have disqualified her from my vote.

I'm voting Munger.

Honestly, I feel like McCrory might be an up and coming bright politician. Charlotte's not perfect, but it's been doing very well for itself, bank closings aside. I'd rather give this guy a chance than possibly hinder his career due to partisan blinders. Plus his main goal seems like it would be economic growth, something the state will need as much as possible in the coming years.

I'm most interested in the outcome of this race tonight, and perhaps the senate results.

I don't know how people can vote for Bev Perdue if they watched the debate between the three candidates. Munger did an outstanding job, but both he and McCrory made Perdue look like an idiot.

I'm surprised there's such a consensus.

well I felt some loyalty to Perdue since I worked as a governor's page under her in 10th grade but I'll be voting McCrory anyways

Voted for Munger. If he weren't anti-healthcare, I think he would be the perfect governor. Of course there's no way he'll get elected.

However, if the Libertarian party can get enough votes, then maybe mainstream candidates will start having to address the issues instead of mudslinging and kissing babies.

This was probably the hardest choice for me to make. I could not find either candidate's position on sea walls but the thing that tipped the scales was from their websites.
McCrory: "Policy Statement: Energy"
Perdue: "Environment and Energy"
And after reading through McCrory's pitch I found the same greenwashing schemes that Republicans and polluters like to push without any regard for intelligent sustainability. I think that Perdue's flip-flopping over offshore drilling is repulsive but since McCrory is far more likely to actually go through with it I had to stick to Bev.

I was very happy to vote for Pat McCrory. Charlotte seems to be doing very well compared to much of the country, and it's nice to finally see a Republican in a state election that doesn't make me want to vomit in shame.

McCrory must win - it would be great for the state

Balack Obama would be offset.

i voted for Perdue because:

1) Charlotte is a shitty fucking town
2) I hated all of the McCrory people on the brickyard
3) I am a Democrat
4) I don't want a NY/NJ landfill in my state

In a debate after McCrory was harping on the need for a strong shift to vocational education, Perdue followed up by saying there is a place for vocational education & community colleges, but you need a focus on 4 year colleges & universities with a focus on broad education because that is how you prepare for the jobs of the future. She asked who would have thought a decade or two ago we should be vocationally training webmasters, to make her point that broad education is the only way to train innovation and for the jobs of the future. And my mother being a public school teacher for who whole life, who has taught across NC, who retired & went back to work even more, when she says Perdue is the better person on education, I believe her.

Your mom's not been in the educational shit, maaaannnn.

I've taught in mother-effing Fayettenam, and McCrory is better on education.

But seriously. Perdue's the "everyone is going to college" type. These people need to stop winning elections.

so you want a singular party rule?

good idea, lets just get rid of the legislative and judicial branch and let the president rule as supreme dictator

divided government works

Meh... if we keep shipping all the high skilled jobs overseas, all that will be left are vocational careers. Hopefully it doesn't go that way, but it seems to lean that way.
