Looks like ECU pays their coach more, along with Wake Forest...although I guess Tom hasn't don't anything yet, but we'll get there are far as wins go.

Tom is way above caring more about his pay on his contract than the team he puts on the field

ecu and wake HAVE to pay their coaches or they'll leave. Hell.. wait till Notre Dame drives a truck load of money to Skips house and see how long it takes him to bolt greenville. TOB knows he can get good recruits here with the facilities and the fan base that shows up win or lose.

We gave him a good raise when he moved down here as well as an opportunity for the recruits. As he does more here, he'll start getting more money.

TOB has an incentive based contract. If he gets us to a bowl he'll see a big spike in pay, and if he gets us to a BCS bowl his pay would be pretty large. I like the idea of this. It gets coaches to try harder and they get paid the way they should based on results. I'm sure he also is probably similar to USF's Jim Leavitt and VT's Frank Beamer in that he'd rather the athletic department use the money that he probably deserves to be paid to pay and hold on to good assistant coaches. Why do you think Bud Foster hasn't left VT yet? He could have easily gone on to become a head coach a long time ago, but he's getting paid well and he's also the favorite to take over when Beamer decides to hang it up.

I hope he sees them soon, because there's really no reason he should be making less money than Jeff Jagodzinski

^ Iowa was really good a few years ago (when they had that QB Banks or whatever his name was) and thus they ponied up the cash and a long contract to keep Ferentz around. Now that they aren't as great, he looks overpaid.

I'll take it.. 8-4 (5-3) would be a great season. I still think 6-6 will be a good season for us
though.

I also thought JoPa only made like $600,000 or somethin. Guess he got a raise recently

Nah, looks like that chart was pre-injury. The ACC is fucking terrible this year and wide open. I can see how he thought that record might be plausible.

They gave the AD an award for excellence. Don't see why they wouldn't give TOB a fat raise after a few sub .500 seasons.

if you think that's good, click on Beamer's name. They had him going undefeated in 2008

if the team's good TOB can make a whole lot of money. i think it's fair.

i'm not mad that they're bad, just saying incentive based contracts like he has are legit.

Poor Tom. How will he get by on only $1.1 million per year?
