does joining mean you'll definitely find someone to play with? I only have a couple of people I can ever find to play with and they'll play at max once per week or so - I'm looking to play at least every other day or so so I can step up my game

Dude. If you're into tennis you'd probably enjoy reading my old roomate's blog about life on the professional futures tour haha. It got over 100,000 hits.

Some of his better known accomplishments at State include:

- shooting someone on Brent Road with a bb gun he bought with a stolen credit card

- being kicked out of State for two years for talking shit to adminstrators

- drinking a 12 pack every night of February

- being enrolled for 12 years and still being one class short of graduating

I've been a member for at least 15 years.. The biggest pro's are that you are eligible to play in a bunch of USTA sanctioned tournaments that you would not be able to play in otherwise. there are also leagues you will be able to play in that you have to be a member to play in. I think there are discounts and such for the US Open although I am not sure on that as I have never been able to go anyway. You do get Tennis magazine and the USTA magazine for free which I enjoy reading about whats going on in the tennis world.

I'm just looking basically to join a league or to find someone to play with semi-competitively

If you get signed up in a tourney then yes you will play. If you sign up for a league, and actually are on a team, then yes you will play. If you are just wanting to find people to play, find some local courts that get a lot of traffic and hang out and see if you can get some play in with some people.
