I bwn regularly.
And the Mommy gig is pretty awesome. It's a little mind numbing staying at home, but the older the little one gets, they more fun it is.

what was the biggest dingaling that you've had in your hoo hah? 9/28/2008 6:26:22 PM |
bottombaby IRL 21954 Posts user info edit post |
I like to consider myself to be omni-sexual. I appreciate people for their "people-ness" and that attraction does not know the bounds of sex or gender. I like men, women, transgendered folks and everything in between.
On the scale, I like to consider myself to be a solid 50, but it could be argued that I lean slightly towards straight because I am in a committed relationship with a man.
--
The biggest "dingaling" was probably my first one, but that may just be a matter of perception.

Who's your favorite transcendental writer? Why is British Literature superior to American Literature? 9/28/2008 6:30:09 PM |
bottombaby IRL 21954 Posts user info edit post |
I am not a huge fan of the transcendentalist movement. I have read my English major's share of Emerson and Thoreau and find them to be writers of equal merit and substance.
I prefer British Literature over American Literature, but that does not make British Literature superior. British writers have a different sense of history and depth than American Writers, but American Literature has a wider cultural basis to draw from. 9/28/2008 6:37:53 PM |

What's it like to fit into the English post-graduate stereotype of the female English major? 9/28/2008 6:39:06 PM |
bottombaby IRL 21954 Posts user info edit post |
Quote : | "What's it like to fit into the English post-graduate stereotype of the female English major?" |
I do not like fitting into any kind of stereotype. I gnash my teeth at the thought of fitting into the quintessential English major and far worse, female English major. I have my teaching certificate, but I have never actually taught a full year. I married and had a baby shortly after finishing college. I am a stay at home mother living in suburbia with my English Education degree. I am a walking talking stereotype in the most superficial way, but even that is unbearable.
But even in my desire not to fit into any kind of stereotype, I mark myself as an English major.9/28/2008 6:44:39 PM |

Yes. Do you want 20th Century Literature or Modern/Current Literature? Also, name your genre.
Quote : | "either time travel is impossible, or invisibility is possible, correct?" |
I believe that were time travel possible, it would destroy reality. However, I am interested in the "stone tape theory" and perhaps in this way we can witness the past.
Invisibility to the human eye is absolutely possible.9/28/2008 6:53:29 PM |

My favorite word is "metamorphosis." Everyone knows what it means so it may not be considered by some to be a big word, but it is my favorite word.

If you think that people are bisexual for the sake of attention and shock value, then you have led a very sheltered existence. If I wanted to shock people, I would find something far more adventuresome than "licking clam."

Quote : | "Should I take this to mean that you think non-whites are not people?" |
No. The statement that I made was a broad sweeping grossly general statement. I am not superficially attracted to people of other races because of my very conservative very white upbringing littered with the same latent and at times overt racism that is dominant in the rural south. I do not like that I lean in that direction, but I am absolutely willing to admit to it. Upon getting to know a person of another race, their "people-ness" is usually enough to overcome that gut reaction.
My lifestyle has changed dramatically since college, so those people that were once friends are no longer a part my life. Then with the birth of my son in January, who does not have a properly functioning immune system, I had to leave behind my job and any potential friendships because my son has to be isolated from the outside world. My son and I are at home alone nearly 24 hours a day. The only real contact that I have with people who are not doctors or other care providers is on the internet.
