Nah, I'd like to get something nice enough to wear if I'm in a blazer and tie, but casual enough for shorts and a t-shirt.

11 years later, I've found the perfect all around sunglasses. SuperDry SDR Alumni, just £35

I'm sporting Randolph Engineering Concordes in gun metal, matte black Wiley X Peaks, or some matte black Knockaround Classics, all with plain smoke lenses.

to get the Peaks in matte black frames w/o mirrored lenses, you have to buy the frames and lenses separately. it was actually cheaper that way, too. opticsplanet.com ftw.

Join Experticity, using your .mil email address (or if you have any other professional "in" that they recognize"

Buy Costas for dirt cheap, like $50.

(I haven't checked this in a year or two, so it's possible they don't do this anymore.)

You apparently have never used Experticity (or the predecessor, ProMotive).

It's not a sale; the partnership companies typically keep the same deal up on an ongoing basis. Sometimes, companies will drop out, but my guess is that Costa is still available there for $50.

who has a .mil address? doesn't seem like something easy to obtain even for veterans

It’s also not limited to military. It’s just an “in” he would have.

^^ how can veterans get a .mil email? I assume yours carried over somehow after more recent service than mine. I googled but didn't get anywhere

It seems you only get access to certain brands based on what association you have. .mil might have more available brands than IBMA members.

Because companies value our service? 10% off at Lowe's and Home Depot is pretty sweet.

Last time I was at Lowe's they wanted me to fill out a form or some shit for the veteran's discount. Thank you, no.

I like Home Depot better anyways.

yeah different associations get access to promotions to different companies. the military associations open almost all the doors. I had several different associations when I signed up, but the military ones covered almost everything.

you wouldn't, as far as i know, be able to get a .mil email by being a veteran, but no matter if you're still AD or Reserves.
