in raleigh? I've dealt with transmedic on millbrook a few times and they're good people. They are in the same little area as henry's, between old wake forest and atlantic ave.

Hold on...to rebuild a clutch?

Do you mean replace a clutch on a manual tranny?

Damn near anybody can do that. I can do it for a good price.

^^^ Depends. We're only getting one side of the story. You didn't happen to call his mother a whore before asking him for a quote did you?

yeah, i could do it. But i have so much going on right now i dont have the time, and it will probably sit in pieces for years if i start it myself. And no dumbass, i didnt call the guy names, I just asked if they could do the work. I have had 3 shops say about the same thing. What happened to customer service?

My Mazda's transmission just got done at Charlie Brown's (thx to zxappeal's recommendation). We had one problem/misunderstanding, but it all got straightened out without any hassle & in the end we were extremely well taken care of. When I called Rose Bros they were also helpful (talked to me for a good 10-15 minutes)-- but maybe it's just because I'm female and they thought they could swindle me out of lots of $$ . Who knows.

Ok- so... after driving the Mazda for a little while it is official that the transmission problem is NOT fixed and the car rides extremely rough at any speed >60mph [my little mexican pickup drove more smoothly at 75 with its stiff suspension than the mazda can do at 40, 50, 60, 70, etc now]. Not too happy with Charlie Brown's work so far.... it drove better with the busted CVs and slipping transmission, and that's not considering the ~$3k they were paid and the 2 weeks they kept it. This is why I absolutely HATE taking stuff to a shop

It's in the $5-6k range. Mom needed a new car, but my dumb ass stepdad won't let her get one-- (she's driving the 95 regal with 300k on the original engine & tranny... it cuts out driving like 60 down the road regularly now). So she spent some of her own $$ to get it fixed so she will have more reliable transportation-- but it didn't work out as well as I had hoped Might end up just selling it and getting something different after all.
