anyone know anything about it? anyone got and good realtors on it?
i have done the whole court house research and what not...its going from there that im lost.
and dont lock this omar...you will refer me to the real estate thread...but people wont just look in there...they will see this and it may be easier to find and easier to get an answer instead of that thread.
so let it slide...it should have its own thread, especially now in this predicament most of americans seem to be in 10/1/2008 12:54:17 AM |

buy a book and teach yourself?
thats what i did when i bought a house. i taught myself as much as i could then asked a zillion questions to people qualified to answer them like my realtor, mortgage lender and builder
i wouldnt take advice like that from tww seriously without confirming it with legit sources 10/1/2008 1:42:14 AM |

A lot of the time you have to buy these houses through auction. 10/1/2008 2:01:38 AM |

If you can afford to buy and then sit on them you should do it. Buy a few, rent them out, profit. 10/1/2008 7:22:15 PM |

Fucking Florida has more condos than people. Part of the housing problem is that shit was overvalued. If it's not scarce it shouldn't be so damned expensive. Hell, if you're planning on living there for a period of time long enough to justify purchasing vs. renting whether it appreciates or not should be a minor concern.

hum, go to auctions? i found out the details before for my county, it can't be that hard to find. i know they required a certain amount in cash before you could bid and a bunch of other terms but overall it was possible to make some $$. 10/1/2008 8:58:25 PM |

its not hard.
goto courthouse and copy down the listing and auction dates. between that time go look at the house and look it up on the internet.. you can use 2-3 different sites that have just enough info that you can link all 3 sites together (without paying for either sites).
its not hard. we took a day to drive around and look at like 10 houses. they were all horrible. we took pictures, felt bad because people were still living in them 10/3/2008 7:55:00 AM |

the wake county gov website lists properties that will be foreclosed due to nonpayment of taxes
http://www.wakegov.com/tax/realestate/foreclosures.htm
but they say for more 'normal' foreclosures you have to go see the postings at the wake county courthouse, info here
http://web.co.wake.nc.us/courts/foreclosure.html
you could also try to find homeowners that are past due on their mortgage before foreclosure, and take over their mortgage for them. to find these ppl, you could do something creative like post in the classified ads, craigslist, etc. 10/7/2008 6:09:36 PM |

its not countless pages of crap really... there is a box for each house.. there are like 30 boxes on that corkboard (outlined boxes).... you just look at the information through each one.
its not like its the easiest thing in the world, but my GF and I got 24 properties, went to the NCSU library, looked all of the houses up on wakegov tax property site and got some #s. then went to look at like 10-11 of them.. all in one day. 10/7/2008 6:19:26 PM |

you just have to be extremely careful and know what you are doing.
Just because you bid $30,000 at a foreclosure sale, doesn't mean you are getting the house free and clear for 30 grand. 10/8/2008 10:43:28 AM |
