didn't ncsu partner with wachovia in some way? i seem to remember either my senior year, or hearing about it the year after that, that they were tying student ids or boardbucks or whatever they were called to wachovia somehow? did that ever happen? and what would the implications be for the university if the bank failed?

yes, the back of the student ID card had a wachovia link and could be used as a debit card.

The bank didn't fail, according to the FDIC, but yes, you could link your student ID to your bank account. I would assume it would still work for the time being and NC State would now have to negotiate contracts with either Citi or go with one of the other two North Carolina based banks.
