use a program like Thunderbird, configure it to use both unity mail and gmail via IMAP, and drag all your mail over to gmail

worked great for me

State will forward your unity mail to a different email address if you ask them.

Yup. Just join the alumni association and they will forward all of your unity Emails to whatever account you want them to.

All alumni also have the ability of creating a forwarding address of

chooseyourname@alumni.ncsu.edu

I remember it took me a while to figure out where to find this cuz their site was a total maze, but if you look hard enough you can find it.
