Insurance companies often give discounts for having multiple policies, for example two vehicles on one insurance policy or having both your vehicle and home insured with the same company.

that's what I was thinking, but it doesnt make much sense to me to charge less for two cars than for one

I will have to call them and see what's going on. I guess I'll add the old car back onto my policy if I have to even though I don't even own it anymore.

1) buy junk title
2) let junkyard keep car
3) purchase insurance
4) profit?

it's not like I need to own a car to insure it, right? I can just give them the info from my old car that I just took off the policy.

the insurance rate you got must have gone up now so $60 up according to today's market
I dont think adding the old car again will get you your old rate now

esp if it's insured with the same company

I doubt it's insured by the same company, but anyway it would be their policy that covers it, not mine.

But yeah I'm pretty sure I probably wouldn't get that rate back anyway like tsavla said.

and I got a rate quote from Geico and it was like 90 bucks a month more than the shitty rate I have now.

For some reason whenever I get a rate online from anywhere it's always way more than what I am paying.

Probably because I haven't been licensed for that long.

So Progressive gave me an offer that's 20 bucks than what my company is charging me now, I may take that one.

Perhaps.

But I just realized I miscalculated and it's really $45 cheaper than mine now. It's looking better and better.
