"Contractors will be repairing a broken water main on Dan Allen Drive during Fall Break. The portion of Dan Allen Drive opposite Bragaw Residence Hall and Witherspoon Student Center will be CLOSED to through traffic (view the attached map) from Thursday, October 9 through early Monday morning, (6 a.m.) October 13. Traffic/detour signs will be in place. Access to the West Dunn Building, Pullen Hall, and Student Health Center will be maintained. Student Health clients and staff will want to access the Central Campus Parking Lot via southbound Dan Allen Drive or via the Thurman Drive detour (view map). No parking in the Bragaw Carriageway during this time. This area will be used by Wolfline buses to maintain bus service - no other vehicular traffic including University vehicles. Please do not move traffic cones. As this is Fall Break, faculty and staff are reminded that in addition to regular parking areas, they may also park in any of the student resident zones (DE/DW) or either of the parking decks. Southbound Dan Allen Drive traffic will be diverted at Thurman Drive and directed through Sullivan Lot to Varsity Drive/Sullivan Drive. Northbound Dan Allen Drive traffic will be diverted at Cates Avenue. If at all possible, please plan on avoiding Dan Allen Drive - use Pullen Road or Gorman Street for north/south travel. Additionally, after the water main repair is completed, paving crews will need to repair the road surface. The time for the road repair has not been scheduled, but it will most likely take place during the week of October 13. Traffic will be reduced to one-lane with traffic assistance provided; delays are expected. More details will follow as soon as the paving date is scheduled."
