'99 Nissan Sentra 1.6 125k

When I accelerate from 1st under regular conditions, the car jerks into 2nd. However, if I am accelerating hard, using all 115 of my horses , it shifts super smooth. What could cause it to shift differently under different acceleration? Or is my transmission just getting shitty? Any input would be awesome, thanks.

do you accelerate at full throttle a lot? do you perform the recommended maintenance on the car?

Ten bucks says your tranny fluid looks like tar and smells like burnt fatback. And the filter is probably in terrible condition.

Line pressure is suffering a bit so it prolly shifts late and hard. Betcha you got some sticking spools in the valve body or an accumulator piston is sticking.

^ &^^...TV cable is a good thing to think about, especially if the damn cable has been dicked with at all.
