I reinstalled CS3 but I lost the CD key for my copy...any of you have one or know one of those sites that have them? My cracking days are long gone, I've forgotten how to do all this stuff

haha yeah i'll be the first to admit that, while they generally look cool, metal logos can be a pain in the ass to read

at least this way you can quickly figure out who's actually playing

OK, so the Angel Massacre logo looks pretty tight, but the Bile Nephrosis one is fucking retarded.

^ In metal bands' defense though, once you learn their logo, you'll always recognize it....unless they change it to something even more illegible...

Sort of... there are too many of them that are nearly identical to another's, though. I've seen two or three others that are really similar to the Bile Nephrosis, and I just don't care enough to check it out in detail enough to try and distinguish between them.

I enjoy symmetry as much as the next guy, but going so far as to be nearly illegible is just poor design. Some of the best black metal logos are simple variants on the classic CloisterBlack font used by Bathory, Burzum and the like, with some other sort of symmetric design element incorporated into it. That's what makes the Angel Massacre one so nice and clean, although it could stand to lose the blood drippings on the bottoms of the letters.

sorry to disappoint, shadowrunner...angel massacre dropped off the bill so i had to re-make the flier (and tom told me to up the price and make the start time later :beatup

on the plus side, i'm getting a lot quicker with this Gimp freeware

Your contrast between the sub text and the background is kinda weak. I'd suggest throwing a stroke/glow/dropshadow effect on em to make the text a little more legible.
