I was looking through some old stuff and found a sealed CD case with a CD in it

Its red and white and has a Dell stamp on the bottom but at the top in big letters it

says "OPERATING SYSTEM" "ALREADY INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER"

then below that it says Reinstallation DVD for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Version 2005 with Update Rollup 2

then on the other side of the CD it says "For Distribution Only With a New Dell PC"

funny thing is, I have never owned a Dell

please be gentle its my first TT post and im not good with computers so can someone tell me what in the hell this is like should I save it, or is it just a coaster?

if its an OEM dell OS disk it won't ask for a serial. mine doesn't.

^ the vast majority of OEM discs i've used either don't require a serial because it checks against the BIOS signature or they DO require a serial based on a unique algorithm

i'd be very surprised if this thing worked on any non-dell PC without any problems (at least after install)
