There is no question that NBC is completely in for Obama. I just do not get people whining about it. It just means they are catering to their customers (viewers) just like Fox News caters to theirs. If someone does not have enough media literacy to understand that then they are not going to make an informed decision anyway.

10/17/2008 2:53:40 AM
I like teaching too. But then I look at the teaching certification programs back home and go to some of the requirements they have for getting into them.
10/17/2008 2:56:21 AM
does that mean that the tests were too strong or too weak?please explain your in a descriptive paragraph
10/17/2008 2:58:33 AM
i had an LTS assignment for the Chorus program because of my music experience...every single kid in there hated singing until I brought in my guitar in, turned up the gain, and just played the power chord roots of their parts.then they wouldn't stop singing.[Edited on October 17, 2008 at 3:01 AM. Reason : lol they weren't deaf]
10/17/2008 3:01:28 AM
power chords make everything OK

For example,One of the programs I was looking at for getting certified to teach high school:They want you to take both of the teaching certification exams before you enter the program. If you can pass those exams, you don't really need to enter their program to begin with right? They want you to have 60 hours of experience in the classroom (through volunteer work or something since you're not certified to teach). Then they want 2 letters of recommendation that pertain to your teaching ability, but those letters of rec can't come from where you got your 60 hours of experience. They also want you to have taken a course on a culture other than your own. But then when you actually talk to them about this requirement, they want it to be an education specific course (ex: Teaching Native Americans or African Americans in the Classroom were some they mentioned). Fair enough, but really what this requirement is for is to get you to pay money to take a random course at their college before you are accepted into their program.I feel like there was something else two but those were the main ones.
10/17/2008 3:04:40 AM
you know, something tells me my teachers all found a way around those requirementsperhaps their ignorance and lack of culture, but maybe it's something more all-encompassing, a greater meaning I can't quite wrap my drunk mind around[Edited on October 17, 2008 at 3:07 AM. Reason : wait, those are pretty simple requirements, maybe my teachers were just ignorant and uncultured!]
10/17/2008 3:06:17 AM
Well, I think a lot of these sorts of requirements are new. Back when I was in high school I'm pretty sure as long as you were not drunk when you showed up for the interview you could be a teacher [Edited on October 17, 2008 at 3:07 AM. Reason : not]
10/17/2008 3:07:32 AM
thats exactly why i'm sending my kids to private school.they'll go to public school when the teachers can take classes about how to properly teach my lil white children
10/17/2008 3:08:25 AM
not to be wrong, dawg, you should definitely have been one of my teachersbut those are fairly simple requirements and mine would be much higher [Edited on October 17, 2008 at 3:09 AM. Reason : where did my post go omg new tww parser bug exploit exploit wait don't ban me]
10/17/2008 3:08:48 AM

^^^ & ^^ These are to get into the teaching program, not to be a teacher. Important distinction. Obviously not everyone who gets into the program will become a teacher.^^ Well, to get into the program, which is supposed to train you to be able to be a qualified teacher and meet the state's requirements, it seems silly that you must first take the exam that is supposed to see if you can pass the state's requirements. It seems like something like the GRE would make more sense for an entrance exam. And for the letters of rec, it doesn't make sense to want letters of rec regarding your ability in the classroom but they can't come from where you spent time in the classroom. You would think they would WANT to know what you were doing in the classroom, rather than just reading on an application, "Yeah I sat in on Ms. Wilson's 9th grade class a couple times."
10/17/2008 3:12:58 AM
it's a common misconception that because the parsec is a unit of distance, his claim regarding the Kessel run was a complete fabrication / failure of the technical editing staffHOWEVER, please note that the Kessel run involves close passage to many black holes which in fact distort distance and timeso, in essence, his clarification was concerning the size of his balls and nothing less

my gf is a teaching 7th grade in Brooklyn and she went through the teaching fellows.all she had to do was teach a lesson in front of a group of people and be interviewed and then take a test to get a certification. Then they had to select you based on your teaching ability and your strengths during the interview.if you're a good teacher, New York will let you teach here. Along with this they're paying for her to get her masters in teaching. She has a degree in Biology and took no teaching classes while in college.and honestly everything you said wolfpackgrrr is pretty minor shit. Have you tried to get a job anywhere other than the mall? now aside from all of this the school system in nyc is completely fucked up and most of the principles are idiots with no teaching experience.[Edited on October 17, 2008 at 9:00 AM. Reason : oh and you get paid 43k out of the gate if you have a degree and little experience.]

CBS' David Letterman is just as bad. He had a bit last night (the same night that John McCain is his guest) where they spliced the debate tapes so each candidate made a statement. Obama's statement was something like "I will work to make sure every American family gets a kitty". McCain's statement was "I am looking for change - that's why I am voting for Obama."Not funny, and total disrespectful.
