What does everyone think of this game? (I have the 360 version)

I think movement off the ball has been greatly improved. Passing is much better, animations are better, etc. Much better game overall

Gripes:
-Crossing and corners are almost useless
-Like 08, whenever you want to go down the side line, the computer just slide tackles it out and then you throw it back in, repeat, repeat, repeat
-The box seems a little too crowded. Most of my goals are on counter attacks or medium-long through balls. When I dominate possession, I rarely score more than I do when I dont dominate possession. Playing the half field game seems harder than before. It just seems like a cluster fuck in the box.

Dude, Winning Eleven SUCKS. It plays like a damn arcade game. I played both demos this year to make a decision which one I wanted to buy, and WE sucks balls.


I have 09 and it's better than 08 -

The only issue I have is how you'll commit a foul, play for 5 minutes, and finally when play stops the ref will pull out a card.

There needs to be a timeout for bookable offenses.

IRL, the ref waving play on and then issuing a card after the run of play is over is pretty rare, so why is it that in the game the ref will play advantage, let the run of play switch back and forth several times, and then drop a card every single time?

If it's a bookable offense, every ref in the world will stop play to book the player unless playing the advantage leads to an immediately clear goalscoring opportunity.

That's my ONLY gripe about the game - EA got that shit 200% wrong.

While this is definitely a concern, it is an improvement over what was the opposite problem before: if you committed a serious foul, you just needed to make sure you backed off and let them play the advantage and you wouldn't get a card.

Absolutely loving this game (on PS3).

I think it's a huge improvement over 08 (which was already excellent IMO). I feel like I have a lot more control over shots + ESPECIALLY free kicks in this one.

^^The cards are a bit goofy. Sometimes Ill have a clear path to the goal and theyll stop to give a yellow. The worst is when there are yellows for no reason. Ive had yellows for scoring goals and heading the ball out on a defensive corner. Its really odd

^That is crazy unless someone committed a foul away from the ball but during play. I highly doubt that though. Maybe they will release a patch for that.

WE used to be the benchmark but I think fifa overtook them this year/last year. Between a more realistic game and licenses, I just cant go WE/PES

FIFA 09 hands down. FIFA has only gotten better each year...unlike all the football games that only get worse. But then again you can hardly blame them when the sport sucks to begin with.
