Anybody you get will be better than Warren. I've heard more negative things about him than I have about any other professor in the chem department.

I've had the pleasure of taking courses with both professors. They are both outstanding!

I like Neyhart a lot. He seems to really enjoy teaching, I'd take him for 201 if you can.

are you serious she's teaching 201 now? I had her for 101 and loved it, dunno why so many people thought she was "hard". she's really nice and will probably be easier than warren

The rumor I hear is that Ison likes Warren's exams so much they are contemplating common exams.

Ison and Neyhart are both good teachers. Ison is a bit scatterbrained. Neyhart is organized to the extreme.

Don't worry, if you're CHE the class shouldn't be too hard.

And there's always SI help if it is.

I've chatted with Ana a few times and she seems really nice and easy to talk to. I'm sure if you took her class she will be very approachable for questions.

Warren no longer has a pony tail. Like Sampson, his powers are now gone.

Ha! Darth Vader made the same mistake when he said: "Your powers are weak old man."

And Sampson still pulled down the pillars.

And, besides, if one doesn't take my section, they will miss out on Spy vs. Spy (Reducing Agent vs. Oxidizing Agent).

the best part about warren's lecture is getting the jokes he makes about certain movies/tv.

when he brought up the magic loogey from seinfeld to illustrate some diagram he made I almost laughed my ass off but realized that not a lot of people got it. kids these days

My biggest problem is the 8:30ness of it. I still haven't figured out how to wake up that early on a consistent basis

Work out during the day so you get tired.

No caffeine after 5 PM.

No TV, video games, or computer time one hour before bed.

Use earplugs if it's too loud.

People whine too much about Warren's class. It really wasn't that difficult.

Whoever you take watch out for the text. If it is done by Wertz it is horrible. I always wondered why we used such a terrible text and then I realized Wertz was affiliated with NCSU hmmmmmm...
Oh and Warren is a terrible teacher who has got a geek following on TWW. As a student who did well at state (graduated with honors in zoology) I can tell you without reservation he is the worst teacher I ever had while I was at state. The class material is actually kind of interesting until you run into a problem. I remember going back and forth between the book and my notes from lecture to figure out a problem only to find out later that both the book and lecture were incorrect on this account. To be fair Warren was able to give us advance notice of some of the incorrect things printed in the book.

Take Neyhart if he's teaching. He is really organized, fair, and enthusiastic about the course. I took it two years ago and can still remember a lot of what I learned. He was a really good teacher.

Can anyone comment more specifically on Ison? Are her exams difficult/fair?
