For a PT reservations agent job
(4hrs, since they said to allow that much time)
Quote :
"The interview process will last approximately 3-4 hours. "

I'm taking this to mean it's going to be a group interview of sorts, elimination style, and maybe some paperwork.

yay/nay?

is it for a phone or in-person job - if in person triple the following

if you deal with whiny people well it's not a bad job - you get all the blame and no credit in a job like that

as long as you aren't looking at it as a long term career move and desperately need the money i guess it's not a horrible idea - don't you have a degree though?

Call center.

I really don't care either way whether the person on the other end thinks their problems are my fault; on the other hand, if I can solve someone's problem, I do it, and do it well. Assuming, of course, my superiors allow me to

hotcurlz24's sister works in that call center and the travel benefits are RE-FUCKING-TARDED.

You can fly pretty much free to anywhere they service. You can also bring friends and family for next to nothing. You can also get in first class for like $20 more or some shit if seats are open. There are also a bunch of discounts at unaffiliated hotels and resorts you can get with your employee ID.

The pay may not be that great but its worth working there for those perks assuming you have the time and enjoy traveling. I know she goes places on a whim whenever she has some free time because it costs next to nothing to go there. We have even tossed around doing a day trip to NYC.

I figure between needing the money, and the benefits, it'll be worth my time

I mean, I use my hours not at work (and some hours at work)
- cleaning
- doing volunteer and frat work
- job hunting
- online surveys
- exercising

It's kind of funny how for not working or being in school FT...I'm awfully fucking busy.

I forgot to add: I love planes. Watching them. Looking at them. Riding in them. I <3 planes. I would totally fly cross-country, just to turn around and fly back.

My grandmother does that stuff in Cary. She's been with the company for like 20 years or something.

You can seriously afford to do that. I mean think about all the places they fly to that you would love to visit even just for a short trip. Especially cities with good public transportation (trains/subways) that you would not even need a rental car. Since you can get hotel rooms cheaper than shit for working there it's a no brainer.

I'm interested what the hours are, and when their training program is (like during the day or is it nights/weekends) because I work full-time but wouldn't mind doing this part-time to make extra cash for the holidays!

my mom worked at SERVO in regency park for 16 years before retiring. the flight benefits are indeed very, very nice especially for family members.

i thought most of the airline training programs are out west/midwest somewhere and you had to be there for 6 weeks - not something you can do while doing another job or going to school

also is this actually for AA or one of the smaller connections - skywest / ASA / etc

the job i have now was about 4 hour interview too. But it was me sitting in the conference room with the development team while they all fired one technical question after another. It was pretty intense but I still got the job!

4 hour interviews are about 3 hours and 40 minutes too long

I would never take longer than 20 minutes to decide if someone was worthy

^i figured I had the job since they spent that much time with me. not the entire time was 'interviewing'. they took some time to show me around and explain what they do in more detail.

To answer some questions you all have posted:

I do!

I think you're pretty much out of luck. I applied back in June or July, and JUST heard from them; the two training classes coming up are the last for the year, and possibly quite some time.
There's a 7am - 330pm class, and a 430pm - 1am class starting in November.

It's in Cary; for AA and American Eagle.

There was a lengthy presentation on the three types of position we were all there for; special notes on each; cons of working there, and a brief summary of benefits, as well as expectations, especially regarding working holidays and weekends and seniority and stuff like that.

Then we split into smaller groups and had 6-7 person group interviews.

Actually, some of the people there were angling for the 20hr/wk position - everyone spent the same amount of time there (except for the folks who got booted out)

I clarified already that not all the time there was a proper interview.
