States where I can't serve: NONE
States where I'd ever have the remotest chance of surviving an election once they rifled through my past records: NONE 10/29/2008 7:51:12 PM |

Boo-hoo-hoo.
If any of those states ever tried to deny you from holding office for that reason, it would take the Supreme Court of the United States about three minutes to shoot it down.
Let states have stupid laws, as long as they're completely meaningless. It keeps their morons happy. 10/30/2008 2:24:00 AM |

actually, Grumps, the law in and of itself is unconstitutional and should be struck down, post haste.
even though the chance of an avowed atheist winning a statewide political office in ANY state is virtually nil. 10/30/2008 4:41:53 PM |

They are Constitutional, and I agree, in principle, that they should be struck down.
On the other hand I realize that it takes political capital to do such things, and I tend to think that capital would be better used on something other than a largely symbolic gesture that would most easily be struck down by someone challenging it in court. 10/30/2008 10:34:50 PM |
