what I mean in the thread title is that he isnt horrible, hes no Quincy Carter, Crompton etc. But everyone KEEPS saying hes one of the best SEC QBs ever, a John Elway, perfect specimen for an NFL QB etc. and hes in his junior year and really hasnt done shit yet and I have watched a ton of Georgia games and hes yet to impress me at all. 11/1/2008 4:26:41 PM |

People get blinded to a guy's flaws if he has a strong enough arm. 11/1/2008 4:28:57 PM |

it's funny listening to the draft gurus....some of them think he's a #1 pick others think he's a 2nd rounder at best
today I think he showed he's more of the latter, but he did have some nice throws...hard to tell if it's just the terrible UGAg offensive line that made him look bad today 11/2/2008 12:57:14 AM |

it's important to consider that there's an inherent bias towards tall pocket passers as far as NFL prospects go, Tebow is obviously a better QB at the college level and maybe as a pro too but he doesn't fit the pocket passer profile that scouts are looking for. Vince Young isn't helping the matter either. 11/2/2008 1:38:02 AM |

well yeah, I was comparing him to other similar QBs... from they way they hype him up you would think hes the next Carson Palmer or Peyton... he definitely has the physical potential but I just dont think he has the brain for it, I've seen him throw into some shitty/non-existent lanes. I think its a case of his arm being SO strong that it let him overcome bad decisions in HS but its not working in college 11/2/2008 2:12:14 AM |

He looked ok tonight, some things looked pretty good, other times he looked bad. I think with a good NFL Qb coach he can do well in the NFL, but time will tell 11/2/2008 2:34:11 AM |

he's one of the more talent qbs ever. What has been his biggest flaw over the years has been no go to wrs, patchwork olines, and bad play calling. Georgia is never going to have a 4000 yard qb 11/2/2008 8:08:04 AM |

no I wouldn't. Green is about as go to as he has had. his wrs are much better this year...his line on the other hand isnt

This pretty much is a good assessment so far. His physical potential is what gets him all the hype. His decision making has been questionable. Most of his bad decisions come when he is pressured. He's done a much better job of stepping up in the pocket this year, but here again his line hasn't been good this year. He's also had a shit ton of balls dropped. Massaquoi has been okay this year but his sophmore and junior years were littered with bad routes and dropped balls left and right. Don't even get me started on Tripp Chandler. Georgia doesn't do the greatest job of developing Qbs either. Mel Kiper pegged him as a #1 draft pick out of high school. Once Kiper likes someone the hype train wont die down till draft day. Bottom line is his skill set is one of the best thats come along in a long time, but the results aren't ever going to live up to the 3-4 years of hype. His stats at Georgia are never going to win the heisman. He needs some fine tuning and he'll be a good Qb in the NFL.

I have never been that impressed with Stafford because he and Georgia are so inconsistent. Maybe he has the tools, but so do about 100 other guys who suck balls when they get to the NFL. I do think he has a better chance to be a good NFLer than Tebow. I still think McCoy is way better than either Stafford or Teboner. 11/3/2008 10:53:28 AM |
