So im messing around with VMWare server, and none of my VMs have sound. Any ideas? Its not showing up as having any sound hardware and therefore wont install drivers. Its Realtec onboard its suppost to be connecting it. Multiple OS's

The hardware isn't showing up in the OS? Did you try adding hardware through the VM settings, not through the guest OS?

ya its set under vmware control panel to use it.

GSX server?

ESX doesn't support sound.

this is base VM Server 2.0, which should.

I know in beta there were some issues with sound, but Im not seeing them now (this is full version, i was beta testing, it got removed and installed with final release. docs dont have anything on it now:

Its not critical before anyone asks, but its for testing/training purposes, so id like to have it working.

vmware tools shows the sound hardware, but doesnt send it to the VMs for some reason...
