AoE II was better... unless we're talking about the entire series, which has been for the most part fantastic.

me and my dad used to get into epic 4-5 hour battles in AOE II. We actually set the woods behind my house on fire one day because we forgot we started one after we got into a game

Empire Earth kicked ass. I played AOE3 all the way to the last mission then my hard drive died.

I played teh demo. Totally different game almost. There is a faster pace than the other. You probably could download the demo or check out a real review at http://www.gamespot.com or http://www.ign.com.
