Do you even understand what he's trying to say, or are you just reading the headline and what's in bold at the bottom?

First he's describing a system that isn't even in place yet. And second, what's wrong with his message? He wants to promote clean energy. If the carbon credit system gets put into place, a conventional coal power plant is going to cost a lot to operate. Obama says in his energy plan, on his web site, that his plan will "Develop and Deploy Clean Coal Technology".

How is this going to bankrupt the coal industry? It might bankrupt one company (as he is referring to in your link) that is shortsighted enough to build a conventional coal plant after this credit system is put into place, but it will promote the use of clean coal instead.


Try actually reading the article and thinking a little about what it says before knee-jerk posting an article based on a spun headline alone.
