our offense is good enough. If our defense steps up this weekend, we win. If they lay down like bitches again....we lose

my god

have you considered the significance of this?

just think back to 5-6 years ago, and even considering Duke football.

please to not get embarrassed ..... well lets be honest, any more embarrassing than getting spanked by duke is inherently.

Hell I don't know what some of you are talking about, Duke would give us a game when they were God-awful and we were actually good. I remember one game when Phil was here when they tried a 60 yard FG to win with Brent Garber or whatever that really good kicker's name was they had.

yes... but we always found a way to not lose to duke. Mind you we didnt find a way to win, we just found a way to avoid losing. the sad part is that FG had a chance honestly. it landed in the back left corner of the endzone... straight and 5 more yards and we were dead meat.

this year I think the luck well runs dry

^x5 I think the point is more that a team with 0 wins spread out over a few years was within a FG at the end of the game. You'd think we would have been up by 30 points.

If our D is half-decent we win our last 3 games. That said, Irving should be back, and with him in the game our defense is completely different. State wins

I hate to admit it, but I think that not only does Duke win and beat the spread, but I think we lose by at least two touchdowns.

If we lose, I am not going to tell anyone that I am an NC State fan until next August.

^ How can you possibly think we are going to lose by 2 TDs. In our last three games, we have basically lost in the final minutes against BC, FSU (final 10 minutes), and UMD. Duke has one good win over an overrated Vandy team and beat UVA while they were down. Yeah they hung with Wake, but Wake is playing horrible right now for whatever reason.

Duke has been fortunate to play teams at the right time. We on the other hand play everyone when they still think they are good or are playing well (see USC, Clemson, ECU, USF, BC, FSU, Maryland, and now Duke).

Seeing as how Duke ALWAYS plays us close, even during the Rivers era, this could get scary. I think we still win, but will not at all be shocked if we don't.

Duke took a decent UVA team out behind the woodshed.....albeit the hoos didn't play well til after that loss. I wouldn't be suprised to see Duke win or be embarrassed if they did pull it off. They've gotta be thinking payback for years of futility against state though

this team will be a lot better next year barring any major injuries. the additions will be very nice... terrell manning, brandon barnes, mike glennon, andrew wallace, rj mattes, etc...

duke is better, but they are still duke. i don't give a shit about their "success" this year. we have the better athletes and better offense. we should be able to outscore them if nothing else.

they have played a soft ass schedule and let wake run all over them, wake hasn't done shit on offense this year other than maybe the ole miss game. the uva win was nice, but that was before uva figured out who they were.

we will be much improved after the bye week and hopefully geron and nate will be back on the field.

see, save manning those are all offensive players, and our offense is not what's losing us games.

well, that is true but playing some young guys this year will help a lot next year. guys like dwayne maddox and sterling lucas really benefited this year from getting experience. even some older guys (redshirt freshmen/sophomores) got a lot of experience this year that they wouldn't of gotten if not for the injuries.

I would say having Clem Johnson, Javon Walker, Nate Irving, and Terrell Manning all healthy at the beginning of the year next year with the current freshmen in there getting experience makes me optimistic about next year's defense.

like that will ever happen...at least 2 of those players will suffer season ending injuries before the season even starts
