I think disciplinary action should be taken against the kids that painted that stuff and expulsion isn't unwarranted, but people are kind of overreacting to this a little.

I know the word "nigger" is no stranger to the free expression tunnel. It popped up more than once during the Duke Lacrosse thing, IIRC, and i recall seeing it on other occasions there too.
