I guess it's not the ending per se, but the last little bit of the movie. It wasn't too hard to follow the time travel part, but didn't they put one of the machines inside of another and then get in it, or something like that? That's where it started to get confusing for me.

It probably has one of the more consistent models of time travel, but I vaguely recall them getting something wrong about timetravel, I just don't remember what it was.

I've heard this movie was awesome. I've had friends swear by it for years and repeatedly tell me that I have to see it, but I've never gotten around to it. Perhaps now that it is on Netflix, I can finally get around to it.

Just saw it and have a few questions.

Was the duplicate failsafe functional? If so, why did Aaron bring one back? Couldn't he have just left the old one? Couldn't he have built the duplicate for himself somewhere else if he wanted his own?

How did the sponsor ever use a box and end up getting comatose?

How did Aaron record his old timeline conversations so well without getting right up to his old self causing a disturbance? If he can not affect the old timeline then how did he get the shotgun incident to change?

What did Aaron accomplish by drugging himself and sticking himself in the attic?

I didn't understand the movie much but then read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primer_%28film%29 and now these are the only major points I don't understand.

Just went downstairs in the dark for some grub and I was afraid of getting ambushed by myself LOL

I finally broke down and watch this, and holy shit, what a convoluted movie.

It was very interesting and I definitely enjoyed it. I think a lot of what makes the movie so confusing is that so much shit is happening off screen.

^The time traveling movie?

So you liked it better than Back to the Future? Or are you just saying it is the most realistic time traveling movie?

Checking this out on netflix soon

If we're talking best time travel movies, my top 5 would have to be (counting franchises as a single entity)

Back to the Future, Bill and Ted, Terminator, Planet of the Apes, and The Butterfly Effect (seriously)

^^Although Terminator and Planet of the Apes were excellent films, I don't know if they could be considered time travel movies. Although they do feature time travel, it isn't really the focus of the movie.

And good call on The Butterfly Effect, I had forgotten about that one and I, too, really enjoyed it.

I think Terminator definitely is, and its the basis for the plot and the story couldn't exist without it...The latest Star Trek is in a similar situation

I'll give you Planet of the Apes, as it only serves to enhance the ending and isn't relevant for the first 90 percent of the film

I'll replace it with Time Line in my top 5

Planet of the Apes is one of the best movies of all time, but does time dilation really count as time travel?

terminator is not a time travel flick cause the audience does not experience different times
nor does time travel play a central role in the film

time travel is a fundamental part of terminator. it's the thing that keeps it from being another mindless action movie.
