I have a $500 gift card that is good for either amazon.com or overstock.com.If any of you know of a fairly good system that is ipod/iphone compatible let me know.I don't even need true surround sound, just a sub and main speaker. I don't want cords everywhere, unless someone can find wireless for this price range.]

Take that $500 and get a good receiver (I'm a fan of Yamaha) then take the extra $100 or so and get an open box set of floor speakers. It'll be better than any $500 out of the box surround sound thing you get.

Yea I am trying to put together a system or find a good HTiB and from what I have learned:A shitty receiver with good speakers = shitty experienceA good receiver with shitty speakers = decentand ofcourse good receiver with good speakers is the bestI've been eyeing this one for a while (for a HTiB option):http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000YO8H5CI no nothing about ipod/phone stuff though. I just know that it is one of the few HTiB that can accept audio over hdmi.[Edited on November 11, 2008 at 12:08 PM. Reason : ]
