So I went down to Kennedy Space Center this weekend to see the space shuttle launch (last nighttime launch of a space shuttle ever... it was probably the coolest thing I've ever seen in my entire life but that is a whole different story). Before each launch, NASA and a few contractors throw a HUGE classy launch party with ice sculptures/open bar/etc. and all the NASA employees in the area are invited. It's mostly to give the engineers and scientists a chance to relax and hang out with some astronauts and stuff. So me and my group were were talking to one of the big cheeses and Ron Livingston aka Peter Gibbons walks right in. I'm not usually one to name drop/talk of celebrities (ahem mytwocents) but it was pretty awesome. Rumors were around that he is gonna be playing an astronaut in some movie coming up and he wanted to meet some. So that + seeing a spaceship liftoff made this a pretty awesome weekend.

I wish I could see a shuttle launch. I've never had the opportunity... it's such a long drive, and it's so unpredictable.
