old thread is 90 days old, this game is fucking fun, they stuck with the old MK fighting system for the most part( it feels like MKII), and most of the characters are really really fun, I don't know how long this luster is going to last, but it's atleast worth a rental. discuss.

if i wanted a T Rated Mortal Kombat i'd play Street Fighter or Dead Or alive

at least then i could throw fireballs or check out some triple F boobs

man, the fatalities are just so lame with that T rating. No heads or limbs being ripped off, no guts. I mean, I saw the one where Jax does his classic "head slam" with both arms, and the dude's head is still there. it should have been squashed into pulp n' bits!

I wonder if they sold more copies due to the teen rating than they would have just making it overly violent like it should be. Guess they did it for a reason.

I gotta say the heroic brutalities are pretty lame compared to Sub-Zero's trademark freeze and shatter. Although I was disappointed to see that they put in Lui Kang's "have a Mortal Kombat arcade machine fall on them" instead of him turning into a dragon.

^^^Lol at that video. Every character starts their fatality off with off with a constipation grunt and jazz hands. Plus there's just something wrong with the narrator/announcer/commentator guy - they should have found someone outside San Francisco to do the voice.

the game is pretty tough.
i like it even though they toned down the gore

i havent been able to get all of the fatalities and brutalities to work yet

the flash is amazing to play with even in the learning process and he is a force in the higher level fights.
he beat me flawlessly in one match and i dont think i even had a chance to block anything b/c he was moving so fast doing lots of super moves.

oh yeah...the grunts, jazz hands and glowing eyes is something from story mode. i guess they are using that element for the arcade setting too

and on another note, this furthers the notion of how gay/lame DC's management is

^Yeah seriously. Just look at Kano's fatality. He like jumps up in the air and lands on your head. In MKII (or it may have been the first one) he jammed his hand into your chest and ripped your heart out.

Because the ratings system has become such a staple in what parents will/won't buy for their kids, they needed the "T" rating for sales

I've only watched the video through Jax, but so far I actually rather like the slightly-less-over-the-top Fatalities.

And I wouldn't want a game where Batman and Supes were killing people anyway, wouldn't seem right.

And I'm relatively ok with there being no spine pulling, since that wasn't my favorite anyway (I was always a Scorpion fan, and they kept his flame breathing skull).

Some of the spine-breaking/neck-breaking/everything-breaking ones are cool... Also when they are reduced to a burned skeleton is fine. But besides that, not nearly enough destruction... I mean, the Joker's is awesome, but they pan away when he pulls out the gun and actually shoots them. And the MK fatalities are just too tame.

Will probably borrow this one from a friend, assuming any of my friends actually bought it.

How do i check when something will be sent? I'm assuming they'll send an email when the first thing is actually sent and then after this its just based on when you turn stuff back in. no i didnt just sit around and play non stop

The only game that took longer than 8 hours to beat is GTA4 (and that took me the majority of the month to do everything). Realistically, it probably took me 5-6 weeks to beat all of those games. Even if it took me 2 months, $40 to play and beat all 4 of those games is nothing compared to buying each one (even used).
