it keeps saying "The lower bound of your interval_1 differs from the correct lower bound by more than 0.1"
and I got interval_1 := -3.39..1.05 which is pretty much the correct answer. Someone explains it to me please ...
I got the the original lowerbound, -3.387490790; and upperbound, 1.049802879. 12/2/2008 9:56:51 PM |

TWW is not the place to consult for help on maple homeworks. Try a TA. Or friends.

It means that if you get within +/- .01 of the actual answer then it will accept your answer.
So for example if the correct answer was 3.4445 and you put 3.4432 then it would be counted. but if you put 3.46 then you would be incorrect. So basically your number could be anywhere from .01000001 to 99999999999999999999999999999999 numbers off.
basically never round in maple, eval if is there. Just define everything to an evalf with a bunch of decimals and reuse those numbers.

I use maple very regularly whenever I have to derive very nasty equations...
I didn't do any of my maple hw when I actually did the classes... One semester I found out that I had been turning in the wrong sections hw after an entire semester of not checking the grades that I was getting on it...
But maple is good to know mkay. 12/3/2008 12:34:21 PM |
