If you're gonna dump some fuel system cleaner in your tank, get Chevron Techron.

STP ain't shit.

Seafoam is good shit as well.

First time I ran it through the fuel intake, I thought I had ruined my car.

When do you actually need to use seafoam? I wonder if my car actually need it.

if your car has been sitting for a while, or any occasion where there may be carbon buildup. lots of short drives and not letting the engine heat up. I've used it on my vehicles (seafoam) and could tell a little better idle, one vehicle with a carb and one FI. Price has gone up about $3 over the past year though.

So I need to run some seafoam through the parents' car when I'm home over Christmas. I know it produces copious smoke, but how long does the smoking last? Not going to do it on the driveway so as not to freak out Mom (who would have a fit even if I told her to expect smoke), but I want to know how long I need to drive it before it returns to normal...

First time I ran seafoam, I was so worried about having this incredibly smoking car in my driveway in cary. I'm surprised the cops didn't show up.

once, following someone's advice, i poured it in some vacuum line on my 3.9L until it smoked up and eventually choked it off like the guy suggested. just let it sit for a while and it fired up and ran great. looked down in the intake and it was spotless.
