I don't know what his formula is, but it's retarded. He has had the Cavs on top for the whole season, and by a VERY large margin. It says the rankings are based on some mathematical formula, but let's face it, when the World Champions, who have a 12 game winning streak, the best record in the NBA, and are 1-0 against the "#1 team" in your rankings, then your ranking system is fucked up. Oh and the Celtics just recently took over the #2 spot.

Just to put things in perspective, the gap between Cleveland and Boston (4.1) is more than that of Boston (3.1) or LA (2.1) over the Blazers, who are CLEARLY overmatched by the top 3 teams.

Not that I put a lot of weight in Power Rankings, but this guy and his stupid system are worse than the BCS. He needs to leave ESPN and go flip burgers somewhere.

It's early in the season, schedules aren't as balanced as they will be later. Also, his ratings give more weight to recent games, and the Cavs are on fire.

It's a shame we don't have an NBA thread.

Yeah I agree, and I try not to put any weight at all into any power rankings in any sport, but for some reason every time a team I like pulls off a big win or has a huge week I look forward to them coming out, only to be crushed when I don't see the results I like.
