pretty much.

I'll still probably see it, but my expectations aren't as high as they were previously, I trust this guy's tastes, and can definitely see that happening to this film.

I don't remember there being a film with this type of story line before so that is why I am excited.

I, too, have a man crush on Brad Pitt. Wait, wat?

it seems to have the same feel as movies like Big Fish and Forrest Gump (same writer i think). My family always sees a movie on Christmas Day so this is what we're seeing tomorrow.

166 minutes is long enough to raise my suspicions for any movie except one specifically billed as "epic." It's gotten lots of award nominations, but I think I'll probably still wait til more reviews start pouring in. We'll go see a movie on Christmas as well, but we're going to see Slumdog Millionaire or Doubt instead.

Saw it last night. It was a good movie but I thought the audience was more emotionally detached from the characters than in Forrest Gump or Big Fish. The movie is going along and you feel like there's going to be this huge tear-jerking climax that catapults the movie from "really good" to "masterpiece", but it doesn't ever come.

it was a great movie.. very similar to forrest gump.

was extremely good for the first 75% of the movie, then it slowed down a little.

similar in structure to forrest gump (same screenwriter, after all) but totally different in tone. definitely worth the ticket, though not fincher's best work.

Fucking awesome movie.

People who think the movie is too long or slowed down at the end just need better attention spans. I don't see any way it could have ended better.

Great movie. And I've always been a big fan of Cate Blanchett, think she's one of the best, if not the best actress in Hollywood right now...but damn she was fine as shit in this movie.

I definitely want to see this, but I have a hard time thinking this movie could top FG for me simply because I enjoy Tom Hanks a lot more than Brad Pitt (though I do enjoy some of his roles for sure)

Great fucking movie. Definitely a Forrest Gump feel, for sure.

No, it's nothing to do with any illusions, or sleight of hand. It's based on a fiction novel. For one to grasp this notion, one must have A) an ability to read, and B) a brain that functions beyond two dimensions.

It reminded me more of the movie Big Fish than Forrest Gump.

I found it slightly dull though.

i think this is the best way to say it. i watched it and didn't ever think that it was 'too long'. I could tell i had been in the theater for a while but never imagined that i was there for a full 3 hours.

The ending was perfect and teaches a good lesson. perhaps those who think the movie slowed missed the point that it was making or aren't that in tune emotionally.

when we left the theater everyone was pretty much silent from the point the movie ended until they were out of the door. i think that demonstrates the degree of impact which this film had on the general viewer there.

did you accidentally see schindler's list? i liked this movie a lot, but it was in no way as intense of a film as you are describing.

it impacted me heavily, what can i say. and the crowd was completely silent at the end despite it being sold out. a lot of people had puffy red eyes as they left, so i can honestly say i'm definitely not the only one there who was impacted.

That's a little misleading.

I mean...it was pretty sad...but not necessarily a tear-jerker. It was combination of sad and "beautiful"...and saying that just made me feel a little gay inside.
