On most ipod kits there is just the one wide piece that plays and charges the ipod. This is connected with a headphone jack. Does one charge and one play (seperately), or do you think its just for universal ease of use?
If I have a headphone jack plugged into my iphone (as in this cord), and I get a phone call with it automatically pick up and hear the other person over the speakers? 12/30/2008 11:09:25 PM |

Alpine CDE-9874 AM/FM/CD/MP3 player with a great iPod interface and I will include the $30 422i full speed ipod control cable. I bought this brand new, installed it in my truck so I would have tunes for URE5, then removed it and its been sitting since. $130 for everything 12/31/2008 12:55:20 AM |

^^my guess is that you just need to use the wide one for an iPod.. the other cord is just there for convenience in case you want/need to use another type of MP3 player. The advantage is of course that it will charge the ipod as well as give you control of it through the headunit instead of having to go through the iPod directly 12/31/2008 1:06:43 AM |
