This game is revealing what we've known all year, the Big 12 doesn't play defense. It should have gone to Tebow again and we're going to find out for certain in a few days.

so then what did utah show us by owning bama start to finish when florida needed a furious last couple of mins to win the SEC championship? that utah's offense and defense is better than florida's?

Just about everyone with half a brain predicted bama wouldn't give a fuck about that game and it was apparent start to finish.

so, with a min to go in the 3rd, texas is up 17-6

and the yardage is:
Texas - 350
OSU - 209

so can we delete this and ban the OP?

I didn't like this episode of the Fiesta Bowl. My favorite was when they had these guys from Idaho and Oklahoma and the guys from Oklahoma tried to pick on the guys from Idaho, but the guys from Idaho ended up winning.

Soooo, how about that Big Televen... 1-6 in bowls this year, and yet again they lose in the big games that they didn't deserve to be in to begin with. Well played, OSU and PSU, well played. Someone please explain to me again how OSU deserved to be in over say... Boise State who finished ranked ahead of OSU in the BCS standings.

Just to reiterate, fuck the Big Ten.

PSU certainly deserved to be in the Rose bowl. You may think OSU didn't deserve to be in the Fiesta Bowl, but they came within a single down of winning the game. It's not like they were seriously outclassed in the game.

PSU deserved to be in the Rose bowl in much the same way that Cincinnati deserved to be in the Orange bowl, by default as conference winners. There was never really any question what the outcome of the Rose Bowl or the Orange Bowl was going to be. I'm sure the money line on those games was horrible, just as I'm sure the money line on OSU vs. Texas was awful. Yes, OSU made it much closer than anyone thought they would, but in the end they still lost, again.

All I'm saying is that the Big Ten, which was a horrible conference all year long, had no business placing two teams in BCS games this year. I would much rather have seen Texas Tech, Boise State, or even TCU in a BCS game rather than throwing a team in just because they have a large fanbase. Of course, in the end it doesn't really matter because outside of the BCS title game the rest of the games are just for fun and don't matter at all.

wow so a team loses a game and all of a sudden they never belonged in the game?

god damn, i guess florida and oklahoma dont belong in the NC

i guess we should just cancel it...since one of those two teams will lose the game and will not have belonged there...why not just cancel the game

did you even look to see what the no-huddle did to bama? and florida's a team that rotatest up to a dozen young guys on their defensive line. oklahoma goes no huddle, florida's going to have its hands full

PS - Penn State lost by 2 TD and put up 400+ yards on the #1 defense...pray tell who else could have done that?

i still say tebow should have won it again (and I'm a tennessee fan, so that is hard for me to admit)

the big 12 teams didn't play hardly anyone ranked in the top 50 in overall defenses, where as the gators played more than half their games against teams with defenses in the top 35

The whole NCAA process is broken. A playoff is needed and the Heisman should be given after the NCAA football playoffs are over. But hey...that's just my opinion. Right now the whole thing is F'd

Florida's defense is very young (especially the secondary), and not great (yet). Not bad, but not great either. Oklahoma will be able to score on them. But likewise, I think Florida will score all over Oklahoma.

The outcome will come down to turnovers and special teams (Demarco Murray will hurt)

Cincy was favored... and VTech had 4 losses, the most of any BCS team... they were the team that got in by default. Good for them for taking advantage of it though.

maybe, just MAYBE that had something to do with the SEC having SIX of the 21 WORST offenses in the country this year

because they were playing good defenses. Ole Miss wasnt a great offense by any means during the year, and they tore up a top Big 12 team

well yeah, but teams not showing up does happen, quite often, especially in college.

If you watched Alabama games all year that was clearly their worst performance of the year.

So Bama didnt show up and got owned by Utah...

true, fair enough... but personally those two games we mentioned were more of beatings to me... michigan showed up for a half that game, then just got embarrassed, bama was trying to show up but was just not allowed to

to me not showing up was more like the texas ohio state game, we saw the longhorn capabilities a couple times, but they chose not to "show those up" for 60 minutes...

^^^ I saw those two games as opposites. Alabama clearly played like garbage, by far the worst they had played all year. The other game Ohio State has a really good defense and played tough. That game went exactly like I thought it would, the Bama game went NOTHING like I thought it would.

Worse than when 2-10 Tulane outgained Alabama 318 to 172 and Bama only won because of special teams pay?

Perhaps Utah was one of the reasons Alabama looked like shit?

Utah looked every bit as fast as those speed demons in the SEC.

I think Utah could compete with ANY team in the country should they be given that chance...

god damn you people will argue ANYTHING

no one said anything about luck. Teams, players etc. have off games. It happens. That doesnt decrease what Utah did at all. The beat Bama bad, but that doesnt mean that Bama also didnt play a bad game. You take that Bama team against the Bama team that played Clemson and they would get destroyed by just as much. Bama was a year (at least) ahead of schedule and got ranked really high a lot sooner than they expected
