They're promo'ing the hell out of this car, but its really nothing special and almost embarassing.
The new Hyundai Genesis V8 sedan bitch slaps it in every category
-better handling -faster -better gas mileage -more interior room -lighter weight -better quality -cheaper
Hard to believe (well okay maybe not) but Hyundai >>> Lincoln. 1/10/2009 4:07:36 PM |

The hyundai genesis looks like it's trying too hard to be a mercedes to me.
Then again, the lincoln MKS looks too much like it's trying not to look like a ford.

I hate to admit it, but it seems as if Hyundai has really been stepping their game up. 1/11/2009 12:50:14 AM |

^haha, I remember I did a similar shitter-comparo a few years back flipping back and forth between the honda accord v6 hybrid and the acura 3.5RL. very compelling conclusions to be made between two cars that probably won't be judged in those ways by the eventual buyers, but good for conversation's sake. 1/14/2009 3:34:28 AM |

For the life of me I don't understand why anyone buys the RL. Acura's finally coming out with a V8 for it (1-2 yrs away) so maybe then its worth it but for now the TL is the WTG 1/14/2009 2:31:34 PM |

The new 3.5 EcoBoost litre TT V6 sounds awesome. 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque.
I like how it looks from the front, profile, and inside. Rims are nice too. The taillights looks like those of an old Kia Rio. They could have had a lot more character. The back doesn't fit with the front. The front is aggressive, unique, and demands attention. The back looks generic compact sedan Korean/Japanese, and hence, misplaced.

^I have to admit that the small changes they made for this model are a step in the right direction, but lincolns just shouldn't be shaped this way. I could be ok with a new taurus sho going this way... but I guess I'm biased. I just love my LS v8. I just washed, clayed, and waxed the '06 2 days ago, and it looks as good as it ever has... I just love that car. Really, an extremely underrated car. The mks just seems like a hot-rod volvo by comparison. I suppose its poignant that when I was shopping for my car, I took a hard look at an s60R and was so unquestionably dissatisfied with the s60r compared to the ls that I immediately removed it from consideration.
At the very least, ford is doing the future kit car industry a tremendous service. Now it'll be cake to get your hands on a 3.5L v6 tt ford motor... just pick up a salvaged taurus or flex or mkt or mks! what other transverse motor (natural for mounting in a mid-engine tube frame chassis) is going to be so powerful and plentiful in 5-6 years as the ecoboost?
here's hoping ford fits a manual to this motor at some point. 1/17/2009 12:31:20 AM |
