Not exactly the off season yet, but its coming, and many teams that are out of the remaining 4 are actively looking to better themselves.

Use this thread for the rumor mill about stars going to different places and upgrades to teams.

I'll Start. Looks like T.O. could get bounced from the Cowboys.

Quote :
"Cowboys talking to Dolphins about dealing TO?

According to numerous sources sources, the Cowboys and Dolphins are discussing a trade for wide receiver Terrell Owens.

The Cowboys have traditionally been a haven for former problem players, but Owens' divisive nature has them looking to part ways with the high-maintenance wideout. Should a deal happen, TO would join Ted Ginn in Miami to form a better-than-average receiving duo. In Dallas, Roy Williams, who made a minimal impact after joining the Cowboys last year, would be asked to step into the No. 1 receiver role. "

That's from a fantasy football site, but those fuckers usually know before Fox Sports, ESPN, and the rest even catch wind of something big.

Owens would eat Pennington's Lunch....then Joey Porter would proceed to Kill T.O.

What a bad move this would be for a young dolphins team on a good path.

P.S. You love the sueno's in the subject line. Admit it.

As a Cowboys fan that makes me and at the same time.

He is a great receiver no doubt but is not worth the trouble and drama plus he's getting older and not as productive now.

meh, with the injury troubles he has had, there is a damn good chance next season could be even worse. May as well get something for him. I hope they aren't planning on making Sproles an every down type back next year though. They should at least pick up a bruiser to complement him

^^ It's not that they plan on getting a great pick or player for LT, but if they decide the team could better spend the 8.5 million dollars LT is going to make next year on other positions, they would be happy to unload him for a 3rd round pick.

I think he will be back next year, but they will probably get him to renegotiate.

^ They won't, they know sproles wouldn't be a good every down back. Even if he can take the workload, which I think he probably can, it's better to have a big back to wear down the defenses, then bring in a guy like sproles to be your homerun hitter.

T.O. is definitely gone, but to the dolphins would not be good for the dolphins.

LT is very possibly on his way out...I just wonder who would pic him up. I think he still has some good years in him.

I don't see Parcells putting up with TO... again. That being said, if TO leaves Dallas combined with the departure of Adam Jones, it would help me hate the Cowboys a little less.

T.O. isnt going anywhere

Quote :
"If the Cowboys cut Terrell Owens this offseason, he will count $680,000 more against their 2009 salary cap than if he were left on the roster.

ESPN's Ed Werder reported late Wednesday that the Cowboys might consider cutting T.O. because otherwise they could "find it difficult to sign NFL sack leader DeMarcus Ware to a new contract." Werder, again, is wrong. The Cowboys will actually have less money to play with if Owens is released."

Per Pro Football Weekly....

Seahawks trying to work out a deal with Houshmanzadeh

Giants trying to work out a deal with Ocho Cinco

LT will be taking a huge pay cut if he wants to stay with the Chargers.

This will be a very interesting off season.

And as a Giants fan I feel like I speak on behalf of all of us when I say keep 85 the hell away from my team.

Honestly I don't think the Giants need any new receivers.

But I think Julius Peppers would like to play in that sack-happy defensive scheme.

The last thing the Chargers need is a WR. They've got much bigger holes to fill.

I would like to see a team like the bears, vikings or even the 49ers get a solid QB

These are 3 teams that arent that bad and I am pulling for one or more of them to acquire a good quarterback this offseason

maybe Cassell, Mcnabb, or Warner

^TO going to the black hole would be hilarious.

Speaking of the Raiders, their center Jake Grove voided his contract and is now an unrestricted free agent.

^Culpepper will be better with Lions than Orlavsky. DC looked half-way decent with no real practice time with the team and just getting thrust in. Team still sucked, but with rested DC and chance to go in depth in playbook and scheme he will be fine. Gotta get OL & not to mention coaching staff and some Gawt darn ownership & front office.

Not good. The Chargers are a run-first team, and they already have a couple of primary passing targets in VJ and Gates. There would not be enough balls to go around if TO joined that team, and he would bitch incessantly.

Plus we'd have to hear ESPN go on and on about how Rivers is crazy and liable to explode at any minute because he talked a little shit on the sidelines 2 years ago...

^ I agree with not being a good fit. However, I wonder if the Chargers will continue to be a run first team. Sproles is rumored be leaving, and LT looks like he is weakening.

Sure they were.

They tried to run first every game. Most games they got stuffed, the D gave up a lot of points, and they were forced to pass in order to catch up.

They operate mostly out of the I-formation. As long as Norv is there, that isn't changing.

^^^They'll franchise Sproles before they let him leave. Especially with LT looking shaky.

"The Chargers took a major step to resolve their running back issues. They designated Darren Sproles as their franchise player, which will limit his free-agent options but guarantee him $6.621 million for the 2009 season.
Most believed the Chargers couldn’t afford to pay both Sproles and starting RB LaDainian Tomlinson. But the Chargers made sure they could. "

Looks like the Chargers are gonna spend $texas at the running back position this year. It'll probably keep them from picking up any big-name free-agents. Interesting move.

^What's it matter? they had the most room under the cap heading into last season's free agency & didn't make much of a splash (their biggest move, of course, being to elect not to spend a mere $6M of it on Turner)
