Exactly soccer is like an ongoing battle. Football gets really tiresome with all the pauses, but i guess its great if you're there to eat sausages and drink more than to watch a good game.

That's a good way of putting it. The difference is they don't waste as much time when play stops unlike in football where they can run 39 seconds off of the clock and then call a TO to bring the kicker on. Which is then often followed by another TO to try to ice the kicker. So after about 2 minutes the final play of the half still hasn't happened to burn the last second off of the clock.

In football you know exactly when the action is going to take place. You have 10-30 seconds of non action, where they can show replays, give statistics, and you can make a quick trip for a beer.

In soccer the action happens seemingly randomly, and you have to constantly watch 20 boring minutes of people kicking a ball around the middle of the field or else you will miss the 15 exciting seconds.

american football is actually really really stupid, i only watch cause thats all there was for a while
look at the sport, its a combination of hard hits and penalties for touching a player

constant stoppages for replays, flags, challenges, tv timeouts, team timeouts, etc
the college football championship game took 30 minutes to play the first 3 minutes
and i dont have time to go into all of whats wrong with it but i'll just say it is to america what gladiators were for rome
